Hi Sam, love your work. Most of it is done digitally, right? Is there any place where i can download some of the brushes you use? Thank you!

Hey Lucas, thanks, you’re making awesome stuff too. And yeah mostly. I try to get as much traditional stuff mixed in as possible though. But for speed digital is the best. The brushes I mostly use at the mo are from Kyle T Webster: https://gumroad.com/kyletwebster

I love the pastel palooza and copier brushes and I haven’t used many of the others, I’m sure they’re great too. No probsy!

The process with the hotels illustration. You can see I had a pretty set idea until I felt like it wasn’t working and floundered around for a bit. I drew the guy in the middle cos I was getting stressed out.

It was quite the proposal, Mr.Worm thought. He wasn’t really sure what to say.

Some sketchbook stuff from the last few weeks. I got a new scanner and it’s very exciting. A mix of stuff from life (the beach, museums) and concept stuff for current projects.

I know I don’t usually post photos but I thought I had some goodns. Me Naomi and Tommy went to mount Edgecumbe yesterday. A very lovely place.

So some exciting things happened

over the last couple of days. Firstly me and my close friend Tommy were both shortlisted to the final ten in the Computer Arts and D&AD New Blood cover competition. That’s just crazy; it was an international competition.

Next I silk screen printed this poster for the film Moon. If you haven’t seen it, go watch it now.

Then I tweeted Duncan Jones (the director) and he loved it and asked if he could put it on their blog and if I could say a few words about it. It was nuts, I was mad star struck.

Then on friday it was our degree show (which was awesome anyway) and I won the Earl Richards Narrative Prize 2014. I was and still am astounded and very surprised.

Anyway I found this cool blog so I’ve been doing some drawing from it. I’ll post those next.
